THE FOURTH-ANNUAL QUEST FOR THE CUP BEGINS AT 9 A.M. AUG. 17 AT RICH VALLEY GOLF COURSE IN ROSEMOUNT.
The charity golf event will again be a four-person scramble with a shotgun start. The entry fee for the golf event is $55 and will cover greens fees, cart, prize money and a donation to youth outreach group The Link.
This year's event also will feature a few new additions. Each team will receive four mulligans (one per person) and 36 inches of string for putting. For example: your closest shot on the green is 7 inches from the hole and you are laying three. You can use 7 inches of your string and take a 3 on the hole. Once you use a portion of your string you can no longer use that portion (your string would now be 29” long). A tape measure will be provided for each team. Additional mulligans and 12-inch increments of string can be purchased for $5 each.
While overall prize winnings will be determined by the number of entrants, $15 of each entry fee will directly benefit The Link. The Link’s mission is to work with youth and families to overcome the impacts of poverty and social injustice. The Link programming supports youth experiencing homelessness, youth involved in the juvenile justice system, and victims of sex trafficking.
Deadline for entry is Aug. 11. Please use the form to the left to register. Single entrants are welcome and will be assigned to a team.
The tournament will follow scramble rules. In a scramble, each player tees off on each hole. The best of the tee shot is selected and all players play their second shots from that spot. The best of the second shots is determined, then all play their third shots from that spot, and so on until the ball is holed.
